Background
One of the world’s most respected medical device and services company headquartered at US with Offices worldwide and distribution channels in over 100 countries.
Challenge
To migrate the MS Exchange based messaging infrastructure to IBM Lotus Notes and Domino in one of their subsidiary company. The Customer also wanted Maarga to provide end user training to its executives and limited period onsite support for the messaging infrastructure.
Solution
Maarga suggested to first deploy Lotus Notes on the User’s systems and also conduct end-user training on Lotus Notes. Then we proceeded to migrate the existing Data in the Exchange server to Domino Server without any loss of mail or incovenience to the end user.
Benefits
The subsidairy also moved to a Lotus Notes & Domino based messaging system similar to other group companies facilitating improved collaboration.
Client: One of the biggest Techincal Support Outsourcing firms from India
Platforms: Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Lotus Domino Server
Challenge:
A large Indian company wanted to roll out clustered Domino servers on Linux to meet the needs of 2000+ technical support representatives
Solution:
Maarga planned and rolled out a clustered Domino environment to run a Knowledge Base application for one of their customers. The planning and roll out ensured seamless transition of operations from the customer’s old contact center to the new outsourced contact center.
Snippets:
The customer wanted to utilize a single desktop for more than 3 technical support agents, as agents would be on shifts. This posed a challenge as the customer did not quite want roaming profiles. Multiple options for storing the Notes data directory on the network drive, local drive, defining users as roaming etc. were presented to the customer for them to chose the best option.
Customer wanted to explore the option of a silent rollout. Maarga tweaked the Installshield Tuner for Lotus Notes to do a custom installable for the customer.
Client: Mid-sized engineering organization from Japan
Solution Domain: Sales Force Automation/CRM Technologies Involved: LotusScript, Formula Language, MS-Office, VBA,
A mid-sized Japanese engineering organization wanted a solution to keep track of sales inquiries from the headquarters.
Solution: Maarga helped the customer implement a custom application that helped them:
The solution was implemented using LotusScript and Formula Language. The solution was implemented in a modular fashion to enable the customer to track each enquiry, and each BOM for the prospective contract. The application had options for calculating bid amounts, storing design documents centrally, centralizing quotes from subcontractors involved etc.
The customer had to support the sales force in both Japanese and English. Domino Global Workbench was used to provide a dual language interface. A Japanese-speaking user would use the application in Japanese, and an English-speaking user would use the same application in English. The language resources involved were isolated into a dictionary that could be easily edited/maintained by a translation resource using a separate interface without having to touch the application/code.
Professionally designed MS-Office templates were provided in the application. The application would pull data from the Lotus Notes systems and produce professional looking quotations/proposals using Microsoft Word and Excel. Thus the sales people were freed from the job to maintain templates, and were allowed to focus on what they do best – selling. Data is also kept alive by being generated from the system, instead of old data creeping into the proposals.
Background
A leading manufacturing company based in Japan, producing industrial components like pumps, pipes etc.
Challenge
A fully functional system capable of tracking requests and enquiries received across the globe with complex report generation capability. The system should be available in English and Japanese Language version.
Solution
Maarga proposed to create an IBM Lotus Notes & Domino based Request Tracking System capable of collecting information from the distributed network of the customer spread across several countries. The system aides in automating the workflow and provides easy tracking facility.
Benefits
Reduced response time for processing inquiries, reduced paper work, better visibility for top management.

Automating all the warehouse processes and providing total control over the Warehouse Operations; reducing paper work to the minimum.
Solution
Building a custom application using the Lotus Notes Domino technology working as a client server application running on Lotus Domino Server 6.0.
Benefits
Minimal paper documentation as the application completely automated the warehouse operations. Information on any product in warehouse is available instantly and can be accessed from anywhere in the company. Know more about Maarga’s Lotus Notes Development Projects by clicking the button below.
